Thanks for reading the blog post and replying.

I am sorry to here about your situation, and it just goes to show that dads can be as bad as mums when it comes to stopping family members having a relationship with children. 

Sometimes the problem is that the relationship between one parent and either of the sets of grandparents wasn&#039;t good to start with and this type of situation can be a way of getting even for what the parent perceives as past wrongs committed against them by the grandparents. I am not saying that is true in your case but it does happen. 

Also the other grandparents can be the real obstacle and the parent is only the proxy. I remember a paternal grandmother being told by the maternal grandmother that the first grandmother needed an appointment to see &#039;her&#039; grandchildren. At that point the children came running over to the first grandmother screaming &#039;Granny, granny&#039; and hugging and kissing her. The first grandmother was so embarrassed that she had to walk away in shame.</description>
